An interesting example of A Christian Tattoo. |
Meanwhile, of course, the tagline simply read: " What Does The Bible Say About Tattoos? "; and being more a product of Berea [ that means: " The Well-Watered Garden " ] than that of Thessalonica [ which means: " That Dry, Barren, And Rock Strewn Land " ], I just couldn't stop myself from clicking upon his own link to that article.
And, indeed, Here's The Interesting Response That I Found....
" Bible Answer: The main passage that is used by some Christians to forbid tattoos and body piercing is Leviticus 19:28: "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.” Sounds like a clear prohibition, doesn’t it, until you recognize this is part of The Mosaic Law that the believer is not under obligation to follow. Before one uses this passage to forbid tattoos, they should take a look at the previous command: “Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard” ( Lev 19:27 ). I haven’t seen many Christians with uncut beards, have you?
The issue of tattoos and body piercing falls under The Category Of Disputable Matters mentioned in Romans Chapter 14: “Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way” ( verse 13 ). Now simply because you feel like there is nothing wrong with tattoos is not a reason to put one on you. I do not personally feel anything is wrong with a Christ-centered tattoo, however, I know it might offend others for me to have one, so I refuse to even consider it ( of course I hate needles too ).
Someone at this point might argue, “Well, I just think that God is absolutely against us putting tattoos on our body, because our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.” Well I understand your position, but remember, according to The Book of Revelation, God will put his name and number on our foreheads. So, even He will put a mark on us.
Marks on bodies have signified for centuries what kind of person an individual is. In The Book Of Revelation there were some that had the mark of the beast which signified the kind of people they were, so God counters and gives His mark to His servants to show the righteous character of His people. In the end, no doubt, a Christian should only have a Christ-centered tattoo if he is going to have one. " - Tom Brown Ministries ( TBM.Org ).
However, There Are Indeed Numerous Flaws; In Such An Utterly Reckless Theology....
First of all, I would like to point out that there is nothing in Revelation 22:4 about ' God Placing A Number Upon Our Foreheads '... in fact, that precise scripture ( actually ) states:
" They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. " - Revelation 22:4.
While An Actual Numerical Reference can ( indeed ) be found in Revelation Chapter 13, wherein it factually states:
" Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has: The Mark Of The Beast, The Name Of The Beast, or The Number Of His Name.
Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man; and His Number Is 666. " - Revelation 13:11-18.
Revelation Chapter 22 [ 18-19 ] says.... |
Secondly, as even Most Sunday Preachers can and will ( quite often ) so honestly tell you:
" A Debatable Or Disputable Matter ( Romans 14:1 ) is an area of behavior, doctrine or tradition upon which Christians disagree because a specific biblical absolute does not regulate it. It is therefore a matter of personal preference and not divine command. These matters belong to The Category Of Christian Freedom Or Liberty.
Guiding Principle:
When A Behavior, Doctrine or Tradition is not addressed in Scripture by a specific moral absolute commanding or forbidding an action, it belongs to A Category Of Freedom. In all areas of freedom, Christians are encouraged to establish their own personal convictions; but are not permitted to judge or ridicule those who do not share their own convictions ( Romans 14:3 ). As we all: " Can Now ( Quite Honestly ) See "! |
In fact, lets just read The End Time Prophecy Of Judgment In Malachi Chapter 4....
" For behold, The Day Is Coming, burning like an oven; and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be like stubble. And, The Day Which Is Coming Shall Burn Them Up, says The Lord Of Hosts; and It Shall Leave Them Neither Root Nor Branch.
But, to you who fear My Name, The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.
You shall trample The Wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet upon the day that I do this, says The Lord Of Hosts.
Remember The Law Of Moses, My Servant, which I commanded him in Horeb for All Of Israel [ which includes every single branch even now grafted in among them ], with The Statutes and Judgments.
Behold, I will send you Elijah The Prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And, He will turn The Hearts Of The Fathers To Their Children, and The Hearts Of The Children To Their Fathers; lest I come and strike The Earth with a curse. " - Malachi 4:1-6.
Well, folks ( quite truthfully ): " Now, Are You "? |
You see, dear brothers and sisters, ' The Clear Word Of God Has Never Been Either Disputable Or Debatable '... in fact, that which has always been debatable are ( actually ) Those Things With Which Other Human Beings Have Been Constantly Bombarding You!
Now, Let Us Be Perfectly Clear: Tattooing Is Quite Truthfully A Sin; Though Not All Sins Are Equally Egregious To God....
In fact, in Mark Chapter 3 [ verses 28-29 ], we can read The Following Biblical Statement:
“ Assuredly, I say to you: ' All Sins Will Be Forgiven The Sons Of Men; and Whatever Blasphemies That They May Utter [ these being covered by the blood of our savior ]; but He Who Blasphemes Against The Holy Spirit [ which has now been provided to truly atone for everyone ] Never Has Forgiveness And Is Subject To Eternal Condemnation [ since, they are continually and openly living in rebellion to God ]. ” - Mark 3:28-29.
Because: " There, Honestly, Is No Difference "! |
After all, dear brothers and sisters, it has been long ago written that: " Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice " - and, that is ( precisely ) The True Subject Which We Are Now Quite Honestly Discussing....
And, if you wanted The Truth... then, whoop, There It Is!
Ahava and Shalom.
May Yahweh's Own: Love and Peace - be, continuously, upon you!
